Common invalid error messages

Form-level

Form-level validation will appear above the entire form and pertain to the failed submission of the form.

  • Please complete the required fields.
    • Use this error message if the user has not filled all of the required fields with valid entries.
  • Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
    • Use this error message if there is an error on our side, something that the user cannot fix on their own. An example if the CAPTCHA site key or secret key is invalid.

Date fields

  • Please enter a date in this format: mm/dd/yyyy.

Email fields

  • Please enter a valid email address.
    • Use this error message if the user either has not completed this field and the field is required or if the user has entered an invalid email address.

Phone number fields

  • Please enter your phone number in this format: +# (###) ###-####.
    • Use this error message if the user either has not completed this field and the field is required or if the user has entered an invalid phone number.
