Secondary navigation

Secondary navigation is a group of links that allow the user to navigate within a section of a site.

For general information about the Navigation Core Component, refer to AEM's Navigation Component documentation.

Usage guidelines

The Navigation component currently only has one style: Secondary Navigation.

Within the edit dialog, the Secondary Navigation style should always have these settings:

  • Exclude Root Levels set to "0"
  • Navigation Structure Depth set to "1"
  • Accessibility label set to "secondary"
  • Collect child pages set to unselected

Order of navigation items

The navigation items will render in the same order as the AEM content tree. If you need to change the order, you will need to reorder the items in AEM.

Responsive behavior

The Secondary Navigation style becomes a dropdown menu on medium, small, and x-small breakpoints.
